Friends of Höljäkkä

Höljäkkä has many friends living all over the world. Some are former inhabitants, others are more or less frequent visitors during holiday seasons. Common to most of them is that they love the village with its scenery and atmosphere. Summer is the top season.

Visitors to Höljäkkä have different expectations as to what the village should offer. At the same time each of them represents different knowledge and experience which might be of importance for the future development of the village and for other visitors. For this reason the administrative board of Höljäkkä village has taken the initiative to make a survey in order to find out:

How many outside friends does Höljäkkä village have, who are they and do they have something in common?
Which services do they want and need in Höljäkkä?
Which ideas do they have in relation to development of the village, and will they be willing to contribute actively to achieve it?
To which extent individual friends of Höljäkkä are interested in being in contact with the permanent inhabitants of the village and with other outside friends of Höljäkkä?

Currently we do not yet know what the answers to these questions will lead to. Maybe a network through which the friends of Höljäkka can find each other. Maybe a network which in practice would facilitate the survival of the village. It depends among other things on you. The group of former Höljäkkä citizens primarily includes the following three groups:

former pupils who have had their adulthood outside Höljäkkä
people who spend their holidays in Höljäkkä
people who earlier have lived in Höljäkkä but now live in neighboring towns, e.g. in the nearby town of Nurmes.

Höljäkkä Day was that year kept on 14 July at the Höljäkkä Youth Association House. The theme was Farming: Progress and Development. About 80 current and former Höljäkkä citizens from different generations participated the arrangement.
